| Baby-sitters Training This is an eight-hour course designed to teach youth, 11-15 yrs of age, the responsibilities and qualities of a good babysitter, and what to expect from the person who hires them. Basic childcare, first aid, safety issues and injury prevention are some of the skills that are taught. This class is scheduled on a quarterly basis. The Summer 2010 quarter will be scheduled for June/July 2010. The fee for this class is $35.00 and $28.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
First Aid and CPR for the Professional / AED Class This class is designed for anyone to take, the work place professional or even if you just want to be First Aid and CPR certified. This class is scheduled for the first Friday and Saturday of each month. For this class the participant can take just the First Aid or the CPR class.
The fee for this class is $40.00 or $32.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
The fee for 1st aid only is $15.00 or $12.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
The fee for CPR/PR/AED only is $30.00 or $24.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
1st Aid class dates: June 4 6pm-8pm, July 2 6pm-8pm, August 13 6pm-8pm (date change due to FWI Festival), and September 3 6pm -8pm
CPR class dates: June 4 8pm-10pm and June 5 8am-noon, July 2 8pm-10pm and July 3 8am-noon, August 13 8pm-10pm and August 14 8am-noon (date change due to FWI Festival), Septemeber 3 8pm-10pm and September 4 8am-noon.
CPR/PR/AED Review
Reviews are held the 3rd Saturday of each month. If your CPR/PR/AED certification has not expired and you would like to re-certify without taking a full class, but you would like to review your skills with an instructor, you may sign up for the review. Participants will view the videos, practice their skills with an instructor, then after passing their skills off, will take the written test.
The fee for this challenge is $26.00 or $21.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
Review dates: June 19, July 17, August 21and September 18.
CPR/AED Challenges Participants who hold a current Red Cross CPR certification may challenge their skills by taking a written test passing with a score of 80% or greater followed by a practical skills test. If you pass both tests you will be Red Cross CPR/AED certified for 2 years. CPR challenges are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month starting at 5:30 pm. Times will vary, your scheduled time will be given at the time of registration.
The fee for this challenge is $20.00 or $16.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
CPR Challenge dates: June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 1.
First Aid Challenge Participants who hold a current Red Cross First Aid certification may challenge their skills by taking a written test passing with a score of 80% or greater followed by a practical skills test. If you pass both tests you will be Red Cross First Aid certified for another 3 years. First Aid challenges are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month starting at 5:30pm.
The fee for this challenge is $20.00 or $16.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
Challenge dates: June 16, July 21, August 18 and September 1.
Lifeguard Challenge Participants who hold a current Red Cross Lifeguard certification may challenge their skills by taking a written test passing with a score of 80% or greater followed by a practical skills test. If you pass both tests you will be Red Cross Lifeguard certified for another 3 years. CPR/PR/AED is not included in this challenge. Lifeguard challenges are scheduled on a quarterly basis. LGT challenge for the Summer 2010 quarter is scheduled for July 21 at 5:30 PM.
The fee for this challenge is $35.00 or $24.00 w/current KOPFC membership.
