KOPFC has 3 year round indoor pools for a variety of uses. The Indoor Recreation Pool includes a water slide, children’s play feature, “current canal” and water basketball hoop. Water depths are from 1.5 to 6 ft. The Indoor Competition Pool includes a water basketball hoop, open water play area and the location for our Wibit water obstacle course during the fall, winter and spring months. The 50 Meter Pool serves many purposes throughout the year including year round access to lap swimming, summer open plunge, water polo leagues, high school swim meets and many other special event uses. During the summer months we open up the retractable doors to give it an outdoor pool feel which still getting protection from the direct sun. It also is where our Wibit is located during the summer.

Children 6 and under, and those that cannot swim must be accompanied by an adult (18+) in the water within arms distance at all times. Maximum adult ratio of 1 adult per 3 children 6 & under. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Chomper’s Cove USA is a great place to spend your summer days. KOPFC’s outdoor waterpark offers 3 additional water facilities to compliment our indoor pools. They include the Splash Pool where you can Experience over 1000 gallons of H20 falling a towering 36 feet from one of the World’s Biggest Dumping Bucket. This alone is worth the price of admission and is tons of fun for all ages. This zone is also full of fun and surprises in the shallow pool, multi-level interactive structure with slides, spray toys, mini dump buckets and much more. There’s also a Splash Pad featuring alternating shooting water nozzles, water fall, and water guns. A heated water supply ensures no chills in this zone. The Outdoor Recreation Pool includes a water slide, children’s play feature, and shallow water areas suitable for young children. To round out the list, the Outdoor Diving Pool & Tower features a 1 meter & 3 meter springboards, 5, 7.4 meter platforms.

GYMNASIUM


The gym includes an NBA size basketball court which encompasses two high school size courts and 6 Pickleball courts, permanent seating on two sides, and a movable divider that separates the two courts. Check the weekly schedule outside the gym for open times. Members and day pass holders may walk or jog around the perimeter of the gym in appropriate footwear (except during pickleball and basketball camps). One mile is thirteen times around the gym. There are many activities that use our gym. A  monthly schedule is posted on the gymnasium doors for all the activities. Below is a schedule of open play basketball. The schedule is subject to change at anytime.

No individual or team coaching or use of cones unless courts are reserved. Courts are $30/Hoop per hour.
Hoop Reservations:
During busy times, court reservations will only be allowed when all 6 courts are in use.

Gymnasium Rules

˜ • Dry clothing & athletic footwear required. NO SWIMSUITS or FLIP FLOPS/SANDALS

˜ • Drinks are permitted in non glass, spill-proof containers.

˜ • Children 9 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times.

˜ • No amplified music (No speakers or phones can play music) Headphones must be used at all times              

˜ Other rules may be enforced for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons.

Free day-use cellphone/wallet lockers are now available for use in the gymnasium to safeguard your valuables.

  1. Place your item(s) into locker and close door
  2. Select a combination & turn the dial to the “lock” position
  3. Scramble the dial
  4. To OPEN, enter the combination from step #2 and turn the dial to the “open” position

Attention! 12 treadmills will be used for the Indoor Triathlon from 8:00-11:30 am on Saturday, January 13, February 10, and March 9.

We have over 10,000 square feet of equipment. On our lower level is our Weight Room. This includes but not limited too: 2 Smith machines, 2 squat racks, multiple plate loaded and selectorized Hoist equipment for every muscle group. Plus 2 recumbent bikes and a Sci-Fit machine.
The upper level has the majority of our cardio equipment including but not limited to Alpine Runners, Cybex treadmills, multiple style ellipticals, recumbent, upright, and spinning bikes, and rowing machines. Plus a complete functional and core training area. This includes multi-level jump boxes, Abcoaster, medicine, stability, and BOSU balls.

To keep you safe and for your enjoyment of our Weight & Cardio Rooms, the following rules will be strictly enforced.

† •  All 14 & 15 year olds MUST take the 14 & 15 Year Old Weight Room Orientation

† • MUST BE 14 YEARS OR OLDER TO USE ROOM. This includes all infants and small children!

† • NO OUTSIDE PERSONAL TRAINING (personal training can only be done by KOPFC Personal Trainers)

† • Shirts and closed toed athletic shoes with an enclosed heel (not a strap), must be worn at all times. No swimsuits, sandals, flip flops, or crocs etc are allowed

† • Use of equipment is at the patron’s own risk.

† • No amplified music (personal headphones must be worn when listening to music)

† • No foul language and loitering permitted

† • No food, and drinks must be in non-spill proof containers

† • Clean up and wipe down all equipment after use

SAUNA, STEAM ROOM, & SPA

Hot tubs, Sauna & Steam room are now open.  Please note that short closures may occur for cleaning purposes.

Are you ready to sweat it out? Our Sauna, and Steam Room are two excellent options for allowing your muscles to relax and your aches and pains to melt away. The sauna provides dry heat, while the steam room offers wet. For maximum benefit, enter 15 minutes after exercising, and please stay in the rooms for 15 minutes or less. If you plan to enjoy these facilities and suffer from a medical condition, please consult your physician before utilizing these options. You must be 18 or older to use the sauna & steam room (Please see additional rules and guidelines for use below hours of operation).

Steam Room and Sauna Rules and Guidelines

Rules:

  • Patrons must be 18 years or over.
  • Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times.
  • Please shower before and after use.
  • Glass bottles, razors or other sharp items are not permitted in steam room/sauna.
  • Shaving or other personal hygiene activities in the steam room/sauna are strictly prohibited.
  • Use of essential oils or other fragrances in the steam room/sauna is strictly prohibited.
  • Do not interfere with the thermostat and steam element.
  • Do not pour water or other liquids on the rocks in the sauna.

Guidelines:

  • Bring a towel to reduce contact with seating areas.
  • It is recommended waiting at least an hour after eating a meal before entering the steam room/sauna.
  • Although it may seem natural to go into a steam room/sauna right after exercising, it is best to let your body cool down, this helps reduce the risk of hyperthermia, which can happen when you are extremely overheated.
  • Remove watches, jewelry, etc as they can become very hot in the steam room/sauna.
  • Remove contact lenses and remove all make-up.
  • Drink plenty of water before and after using the steam room/sauna as dehydration can become a problem in this environment.
  • Enter the steam room/sauna and sit down.  As a courtesy to others, please do not lie down.
  • Relax for 5-10 minutes (max of 15 minutes) in the steam room/sauna, this will raise the body temperature and the perspiration will cleanse the pores of the skin.
  • Leave the steam room/sauna and cool down for a minimum of 15 minutes immediately by taking a shower or gradually by sitting on the bench or poolside.
  • You must wait at least 15 minutes before returning to the steam room/sauna.
  • The hot/cold cycle can be repeated as often as comfort allows.
  • When ready to leave, patrons should cool down and relax after steam room/sauna session.

You should not use the steam room/sauna if you:

  • Are pregnant.
  • Are suffering from heart disease, circulatory problems, high/low blood pressure, diabetes, kidney disease or an illness causing an inability to perspire.  Please consult a physician.
  • Have any infectious skin diseases/sores/wounds.
  • Have consumed alcohol within one and a half hours.
  • Have recently exercised. At least 15 minutes should be allowed to enable the body temperature to return to normal.

Maintenance:

  • We reserve the right to close the steam room/sauna for any reason.
  • Besides nightly cleaning/disinfecting of the steam room/sauna, the steam room will also be closed for cleaning/disinfecting Mon-Sat from 10-11am and 3-4pm and Sundays from 2-3pm.

 

TENNIS / PICKLEBALL COURTS


Kearns Oquirrh Park has five(5) outdoor tennis & six(6) indoor pickleball courts.

KOPFC has five (5) outdoor tennis courts that are available for play on from sunrise to 9:00 PM, weather permitting.  Tennis admission is included with your membership or day pass purchase.  Tennis rackets and balls may be rented at the Front Desk.

KOPFC has six (6) indoor pickleball courts located in the gymnasium. Three (3) courts are available for open play every Monday – Friday  from 5:00am – 12:00 pm. Six (6) courts are available on Saturdays from 7 am-12 pm.  Paddles and balls can be checked out with collateral at the Front Desk. Cost is free with membership or price of admissions with day pass.  Leagues are on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5:00-9:30 PM. Go to our registration page to register for your skill level.

Directly west of the Fitness Center parking lot lies the community’s very own 7 acre park. This property is contiguous with the Indian Hills residential subdivision, Beehive Elementary School, Salt Lake County park space, the Utah Olympic Oval, andthe Fitness Center. The park serves the community with much needed green space, picnic tables, walking/jogging trails, play structure, open space and more. The park has a spectacular pavilion complete with a covered picnic area, tables, & restrooms.

Open year-round, the Utah Olympic Oval is open for public ice skating.

The Utah Olympic Oval is open for public ice skating.  During the Monday 7:00 -9:00pm public skate session, members of the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center can skate for free. All members must show their KOPFC membership card at the Guest Services desk to receive free admission to the public ice skate sessions. For those without their own skates, rentals are only $6.00 per person.
