RSA – Receptionist Sales Associate (Part time Seasonal)


Starting wage: $9.25 /hour                                          
Reports to: Operations Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Responsible for Fitness Center admissions, memberships, sales, and customer service functions
  • Greet patrons and admit them in a timely manner
  • Ensure that proper fees are being charged to patrons
  • Control the flow of patrons and visitors past the front desk
  • Sell retail items to patrons
  • Orient parents in regard to policies and procedures that must be followed
  • Answer phone calls and provide requested information or transfer to the appropriate personnel
  • Reconcile cash drawer following all related policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and communicate closely with Center personnel to ensure that required information is obtained and conveyed to the public
  • Responsible for maintaining the professional atmosphere of the Fitness Center
  • Give excellent customer service to the patrons of the Fitness Center
  • Summer months also work daily admissions in Kiosk

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Ability to relate well with children and adults
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Willingness to assist others
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and the general public
  • Ability to stand for periods at a time

 


Lifeguards 


Starting Wage: $10 /hour
Description: Under the direction of the Aquatics Safety Supervisor, help ensure the safety and supervision of the patrons in and around the Aquatic areas of the Fitness Center.

We have paid training classes starting every month beginning in January.  Benefits include Free KOPFC membership, Flexible work schedule, Opportunity to work throughout the school year, and FUN summer or year-round job.”

Enroll in a Lifeguard Training course at KOPFC, you must be at least 15 years old by the time the class ends and be able to pass the pre-screening test by the end of the class, which consists of the following skills:

  1. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  2. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.
  3. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

■ Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.
■ Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.

Participants will also be required to pass All final written and practical exams for CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid; Lifeguarding/ Waterpark Lifeguarding Skills. As part of the requirements for receiving American Red Cross course completion certificates, participants must pass each written exam with minimum score of 80 percent.

Aquatics Swim Instructor


Starting Pay: $10/hour (paid training also)

Description: Under the direction of the Aquatics Program Supervisor, responsible for the instruction and safety of students enrolled in assigned aquatic classes at the Fitness Center. Responsible for performing assigned instructor duties in an effective manner. Assume responsibility for maintaining positive relations with patrons. Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relations with personnel and management.

Minimum Qualifications:
Obtain training as a swim instructor through a District approved training program. Ability to pass a District prepared water test. Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, supervisors, and other employees. Excellent swimming and lifesaving abilities. Alert, attentive, and responsible and ability to be a team player. 

Must be 16 or older.

Concessions Attendant  


Starting Pay: $8.50/hour
Reports to: Concessions Supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

1. Responsible for sales and customer service functions in the Concession Stand
a. Set up of Concessions area before opening
b. Restock all items sold in concessions
c. Sell concessions items to patrons ensuring that proper fees are being charged
d. Cleanliness of area inside and outside of concessions
e. Complete opening and closing procedures, fill out form and turn into Concessions Supervisor
f. Perform all duties in an efficient manner focusing on serving patrons
g. Reconcile cash drawer following all related policies and procedures
h. Coordinate and communicate closely with Center personnel to ensure that required information is obtained and conveyed to the public
i. Responsible for maintaining the professional atmosphere of the Fitness Center
j. Prepare and serve food, beverages & desserts to customers
k. Scrub & polish counters, warming table, ovens.  Clean dishes and fountain equipment.
l. Follow proper sanitation guidelines during food preparations.

2. Conduct oneself in a professional manner and dress in proper uniform
a. Handle patron complaints and/or comments or refer them to the proper personnel
b. Maintain positive public relations for the Facility
c. Give excellent customer service to the patrons of the Fitness Center
d. Help keep the Fitness Center clean and uncluttered
e. Set a positive example for other employees to follow
f. Learn and follow all safety policies and procedures

3. Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relations with other employees and management
a. Attend all concession and general staff meetings
b. Provide input concerning concession areas and discuss problems or concerns with appropriate personnel
c. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. At least 16 years of age
  2. Current food handlers permit (prior to starting work)
  3. Good public relations skills
  4. Ability to work with public as well as relate to children and adults
  5. Ability to provide excellent customer services while working in a fast paced environment
  6. Willingness to assist others
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and the general public

Desired Qualifications: Previous experience as a cashier

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes days, eves, weekends, holidays & special events
  2. Light physical activity including lifting, walking, standing, etc.
  3. May have a few disagreeable elements such as noise, poor ventilation, or extreme or uneven temperatures
  4. Exposure to intermittent stress

Kid’s Camp Counselor  


Starting Pay: $9.00/hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

+ Responsible for the safety and operation of a Recreation youth program
+ Greet parents as they come in to drop off their children.
+ Orient parents concerning policies and procedures that must be followed.
+ Assist with the planning, development, and organization of activities for the program
+ Attentively watch and attend to the children in the program.
+ Ensure that all activities for each day are planned and prepared in advance.
+ Participate with the children in their activities, including swimming, if applicable
+ Ensure that all children are involved with the activities and adjust programs as needed to closely match the children’s skills and abilities.
+ Discipline children, when necessary, using appropriate and authorized disciplinary techniques.

 


Summer Tennis Instructor 


Part time mornings and evening times available
Starting Pay: $12-$15/hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

+ Responsible for performing Instructor duties in an effective manner
+ Supervise the conduct of students to prevent unsafe conditions and behavior to deter accidents
+ Prepare lesson plans, evaluations, course records, and reports
+ Participate in the maintenance of daily records relating to accidents
+ Be prepared and ready to start class on time
+ Return teaching equipment to storage after lessons
+ Assist in keeping the clubhouse and storage area neat and organized

 


Custodian (Part Time)


Starting Wage: $9.85 per hour.
Reports to: Facilities Supervisor
Position Purpose: Under the direction of the Physical Facility Supervisor, perform activities to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the Fitness Center.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Experience preferred but not required..
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and techniques, sanitation tools and equipment and cleaning agents and their use.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge in the types and use of machines, tools and equipment related to cleaning a fitness center.
  • Ability to relate well with supervisors, subordinates, co-workers and the general public.

Hours: 8 – 20 hours per week. Based on needs.

Groundskeeper (Part Time)    


Starting Wage: Based on experience.  Range $7.50 – $10.77 per hour.
Position Reports to: Facilities Supervisor
Position Purpose: Under the direction of the Facility Supervisor, perform activities to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the Fitness Center.

  • At least 15 years of age.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to work outdoors
  • Able to relate well with supervisors, co-workers and the general public.

Hours:   8 – 20 hours per week. Based on needs.
