BOOM Mind®: This class is a 30 minute flowing mix of yoga, Pilates, and athletic stretching techniques that improves strength, balance and flexibility through a mind/body/spirit approach. The flow is easy to follow and transitions smoothly between standing and mat based work.
BOOM Move It®: This class is a heart healthy cardio workout featuring dance style choreography. This fun, high energy dance fitness class is open to beginning exercisers, experienced dancers, and everyone in between. Get ready to hit the dance floor.
Boot Camp: An intense circuit style class going from sprints to push-ups in no time at all. You’ll never know what comes next.
Butts & Gutts: This class will take you through an intense glute workout with a Pilates inspired core section. The focus is on core strength to build muscles, in addition to targeting your quads and hamstrings.
Cyclicity: A group indoor cycling class that replicates the feel of the road and dirt. Sprints, climbs or hovers are part of your ride.
HIGH Fitness: A hardcore fun fitness class that incorporates interval training with music you love and intense easy to follow choreography. HIGH Fitness produces a high caloric burn and full body toning through its carefully formulated choreography that alternates between intense cardio peaks and toning tracks.
Insanity: A cardio based, athletic-style workout that combines the best of HIIT and strength moves designed to help you get fit fast!
Kickbox & More: This is a mix of Kickboxing and Boot Camp where you will get the best of both worlds to give you a heart stopping high energy workout.
Kidz Zumba: Boys and girls 8-13 years of age will have a blast dancing to kid-friendly music and playing fitness games designed just for them. This 45-minute class will get them moving and grooving to a healthier lifestyle, while building confidence, improving coordination and memory skills.
Pedal & Pump: This class is the best of both worlds. Using cycling and weights in a circuit format gives you cardio and strength training all in one class. (Max participants 20)
Pilates: Pilates helps to improve alignment, breathing, and to increase efficiency of movement through core stabilization.
POUND®: Created by two female drummers, the POUND workout fuses cardio interval training with drumming to provide a challenging, heart pumping workout.
Pump Plus: This class will strengthen all of your muscles using free weights, bands, weighted bars, BOSU, various size fitness balls, TRX straps with some cardio mixed in.
SilverSneakers Classic®: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support. This class is designed for Seniors or those that need a gentler workout.
Strong Fit: This class is a 30/30 mix of cardio and weight training designed just for Seniors or those that need a gentler workout.
Strong Flow Yoga: Power yoga is a practice where postures or asanas are connected through movement and breath to create heat throughout the workout. This class builds endurance, flexibility, and strength. Modifications are given, when needed.
Trekking: The pattern of the workout is based interval training, short spurts of hard exercise followed by periods of rest that help build cardiovascular capacity and muscular endurance.
TRX: This is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility, & core stability simultaneously.
TRX/Cardio Fushion: This full body workout uses the TRX suspension bands combined with heart pumping cardio intervals. This 45 minute class will give you the best of two worlds, strength and cardiovascular training in one class.
Yoga: A concentration on balance of mind, body, breathing, strength, and flexibility.
Zumba: This is a fun high energy Latin dance class featuring moves such as Samba, Cha-Cha, Reggaton, Merengue & more.
Zumba Toning: This class combines toning exercises using light hand weights with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a fun high energy dance class.

WATER FITNESS CLASSES: You must be 14 yrs old to attend or 12 -13 years old if accompanied by an adult. We also recommend that you discuss your exercise program with your physician, especially if you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or injuries, or if you have a chronic illness.
Aqua Dance: Anyone can join Aqua Dance. No dance background necessary – just the willingness to move and have fun! Routines feature dynamic rhythms and easy-to-learn steps that will get you moving right away. In minutes you’ll be moving to the beat and having a blast! (Shallow and deep.)
Aqua Fit: This invigorating class uses the resistance of the water, with or without, equipment to give you an energizing workout. Becoming more fit was never so much fun!
Crazy for Cardio: This class challenges your cardio-respiratory system with a variety of equipment to create a wild and crazy, calorieblasting workout.
Easy Does It: This gentle 45 min. workout may help decrease joint pain & swelling as well as improve joint flexibility. Mild cardiorespiratory training & light strength building exercises make this the perfect class not only for those with arthritis, but for seniors & those just beginning a fitness program. For stability & safety, aquatic shoes are recommended but not required.
Splashin’ & Dashin’: Start the day right with splashin’ in fun, while dashin’ into fitness. This fun class offers a full body workout including a variety of cardio, strengthening, and ab routines, in shallow and deep water.
SWAT Special Water Aerobic Tactics: With a bit of a militant tone, intense drills inspired by the training of Navy SEALS and professional athletes are designed to crush preconceived limitations and explore new levels of fitness. Due to the high intensity, this class is NOT recommended for moms-to-be.
Total Body Blast: Strengthen your entire body utilizing a variety of invigorating moves, from kick boxing to plyometrics, with and without equipment. Help strengthen coordination through the mind-body connection while boosting metabolism. Let every part of your body – mind, heart, and muscles – blast into fitness during this wet and wild workout.
Moms-To-Be – water fitness is a great way to prepare your body for child birth. Pick up a free pregnancy information sheet outside the water fitness office.

Kid’s Camp is for kids ages 5-12 years old. We have fun games and activities every day to keep them busy from 9 am-3 pm Monday-Friday. Games can included but not limited to dodgeball, kickball, swimming, ice skating, curling, crafts, food, and movies Camp will be from June 7th-August 13th 2021.

We offer 2 payment options, monthly and full summer. For those that are members of KOPFC, a 15% discount off the general fee will be offered. - Water temperatures – 50 M Pool = 81-82, Indoor Comp. Pool = 85-86.
- Lanes need to be shared if there are more swimmers than lanes available.
- If there are three or more per lane circle swimming must be done (stay to the right).
- Both pools provide 25 yard lanes (1 mile = 70 lengths or 35 “laps”).
- Some exceptions to this schedule apply during special events, inclement weather, etc.
Youth lap swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards of a strong stroke.
If 3 or more swimmers in a lane, circle swimming must be done.

Elliott is an ACSM certified personal trainer with an associate’s degree from Salt Lake Community College as a fitness technician. His preparation as a fitness technician included working with student

Pickleball League
Join our Pickleball Leagues every Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Leagues are based on skill levels and will be played in a round robin style. Which means you do not need a partner because you will be playing with and against everyone in your skill level. There is guaranteed play the whole two hours. Come join us for the fun! Junior Pickleball League
We are excited to introduce a Junior Pickleball League at KOPFC. Our goal is to be able to get the kids learning how to play pickleball to then be able to play other kids in our community and throughout the state. Not all kids will need to be learning to play to compete, this will be only for those that want to.
If your child signs up for the Junior Pickleball League, they will be learning all the rules of pickleball and how to play games. We will be learning by playing skill games and actual games. This is very active so make sure your child comes in athletic shoes and exercise clothes.

Skills Workshops-
Intermediate Skills Class is for 3.0 players who know the rules, can serve in, return serve, hit forehand, backhand and dinks.
Overall Goal: Get to the kitchen line, Keep opponent away from kitchen, play the rally, partner strategy

Advanced Skills Class is for 3.5 players who know the rules, can target shots, comfortable with forehand and backhand, comfortable hitting drives, lobs, dinks, and smashes
Overall Goal: Reduce errors, making score opportunities, advanced strategies, play the rally

Skill Divisions Expectation
2.5 – You are brand new to pickleball; you are not familiar with all the rules.
3.0 – You know the rules and can track your own score; you are working on hitting the ball consistently.
3.5 – You are able to hit the ball consistently; you are working on placing the ball based on pickleball strategy.
4.0 – You place the ball based on pickleball strategy; it is very hard to overpower you with a hard hit.
4.5+ – You have played in several tournaments and won many of them; pickleball lost “game” status a long time ago
SCOUT MERIT
BADGES

SCOUT MERIT BADGES. Scout Merit Badge classes are available throughout the year. Registration for these classes is on-going and must be done before the 1st day of class. If there aren’t enough participants registered 24 hours before class, the class may be cancelled. In such a case you will be notified by email and/or phone, and a credit will be given for a future merit badge class. Scouts must attend all classes and all skills must be performed correctly to receive the merit badge. Our instructors are registered with the Boy Scouts of America as Merit Badge Counselors. Scout uniforms are recommended for all merit badge classes except those aquatic activities that will require swim-suits instead. Cancellations/Credits will be offered up to the time of the class. Once the class date has passed there are no refunds or credits.
Scout swim checks (a BSA swim test) are available for $1.25 per scout (in addition to admission fee if participating in other activities). Swim checks can be done anytime during Open Plunge. Let the front counter know you need a scout swim check when checking in to the facility. If bringing a large group (10+) please contact the front desk at 801.966.5555 ext. 0, to be placed on the schedule.
AQUATIC SCOUT PRACTICE. This is a great opportunity to work on skills for Aquatic Scout Merit Badges (no instructor provided).
Fee is $2.50/ scout and does not include other facility activities. There is usually space during open plunge but we strongly suggest calling the facility prior to coming to make sure there is space available at that time.

Each of these Merit Badges requires CPR. If CPR is needed, please register for the CPR class too. CPR is good for 2 years from date of completion.
+Class will start with a BSA swim check on the 1st day of class when taking the Swimming, Lifesaving, or Canoeing classes. A boy must pass it in order to continue in the class. If unable to pass, a credit, minus $2.00, will be given for a future merit badge class.

This class is designed to work with children ages 3 and up who have special needs/disabilities. Our Adaptive Aquatic instructors are trained to lead participants through a range of water experiences that encourage independence in the water, socializing and specific swimming or exercise skills and routines. The Beginning Adult Class is designed to help those who have never had swim lessons, are afraid in or around water, or for those who would like to learn the basics. The Intermediate/Advanced Adult class is designed to build on the skills learned in the Beginning Adult Class, perfect strokes, or for those wanting more technique. To sign up for this class you must have attended the Beginning Adult Class or be able to swim 10 yards on your front and back as well as swim in deep water. Anyone 14 years of age or older may attend these classes. During the course of the session, please feel free to ask your instructor any questions you may have. Children’s swim lessons are held year-round. Each set consists of six 30 minute lessons. All levels will be offered but not at all time periods. Registration is held every 3 weeks (check schedule below for exceptions). In all classes we must have at least 2 students to hold the class. Classes may be combined to accommodate the need to hold a class. You must register for lessons online using a credit or debit card. You may register using any Internet web browser by clicking on the Registration link below.

Our Water Babies Classes are for children ages 6 months to 36 months with an adult in the water. This class will provide you with the knowledge and skills to orient your child to the water and to safely supervise all water activities. This class is the beginning in a process of developing your child’s water and swimming skills. Lessons are held on Saturday mornings (4×30 minute lessons).

Welcome to our Jr. Marlin Swim Team (Intro to competitive swimming).
Your child can expect to learn the basics of competitive swimming. They will refine the four strokes, work on starts and turns, and build strength and endurance. This program aims to provide a positive and fun learning environment as an introduction to competitive swimming and is an ideal stepping stone to KYAT.

KYAT is a year round swimming team for boys and girls ages 5-18. The team practices under the direction of certified coaches and competes in meets against other teams from across the state and region. Members $29/General Patron $35. There are NO refunds or credits given after the second class of each lesson set. There will be no make-up classes except in the event of inclement weather.
Ages 11-18 Years: Beginner or Intermediate players, it doesn’t matter. We have lessons for all levels. These lessons will be a fun way for kids to learn new skills & discipline while being active. There will be games and activities that will challenge them and develop new skills or improve on current skills for the game. They will learn alongside new and old friends.
Age 10 & Under Tennis: Tennis sized right! Originally developed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment (smaller racquets, different sized balls), shorter court dimensions and modified scoring tailored to age and size. 10 and Under Tennis is also ideal for individuals with disabilities or with differing abilities and circumstances. 10 and Under Tennis is divided into two different levels ages 8 and under and ages 10 and under though it can be used for kids and players of all ages. It’s the fast, fun way to get kids into tennis and to keep them playing for life!
Adult Lessons:In these lessons, adults of all levels can come and improve all aspects of their game from basic groundstrokes to serves and strategies. Learn and refine skills through practice, drills, games and other fun activities to help improve their game. This is a fun environment that will challenge you and help take your game to the next level!
Private & Semi-Private:Ready to move your game to the next level? Want to develop an extra edge before starting team play? Schedule an hour of personalized instruction to work on specific skills and game strategies.

Now members of KOPFC can use the indoor track at the Utah Olympic Oval as part of their membership. Runners/walkers can train on the 442 meter indoor track that surrounds the Oval speed skating ice. Featuring a Mondo Super X running track with 4 lanes plus an eight lane 110 sprint zone. The track has been marked according to NCAA and IFAA standards. The Oval is one of the only indoor track facilities in the state, providing year-round training capabilities in a climate-controlled temperature of 65F – 65F degrees.
Members wanting to use the track may go to the Guest Services check-in desk at the Oval and present their KOPFC membership card (you must show your card – they cannot look up your name if you don’t have your card with you) and register on the daily check in sheet. Once checked in, you are set to go and enjoy this new KOPFC membership benefit. We are so excited to bring back the same fun camp experience with a few new provisions.
Camps run for one week, Monday through Friday from 9:00-3:00 with swimming the LAST hour every day!
To ensure the safety of our students, we will be following these guidelines:
-Payments will be due the first day of camp through Venmo.
-Parents will be required to take their child’s temperature at home and check specific symptoms before bringing them to camp each day.
-Camp size will be limited so we can maintain social distancing.
-Students will need to bring their own lunch. We will be providing individually wrapped snacks throughout the day.

This is a program for those looking to take their water polo to the next level. The team practices year round (split into four seasons) and competes against other clubs around the area and occasionally travels out of state for tournaments. New athletes can start anytime and need to be able to swim 4 laps and it’s usually necessary to complete Jr.Marlins.
The club has 100 to 150 athletes depending on the time of year. Currently the athletes range from 7 to 18 years old. Fee per season is $105 or $84 for KOPFC members. Our Splashball class is for any beginner that wants to learn how to play water polo. It’s designed for children 5-10 with limited swimming background and no water polo experience.

Instead of stumbling around, let our staff teach you the proper use of the those machines. You will leave this orientation with all the knowledge and confidence required to use the equipment in the Weight and Cardio Rooms. No personal workouts will be discussed during this orientation.
