AQUATIC EXERCISE In addition to Lap Swimming, there are many ways to exercise in the water that can be done on your own in any of the indoor pools. Aquatic Exercise is beneficial by taking advantage of the softer landing that water provides on the joints and the extra resistance water adds while moving your arms and legs. Try Water Walking in the shallow areas of the Indoor Competition Pool and Indoor Recreation Pool, walking with and against the current in the Current Canal in the Indoor Recreation Pool, and off-the-bottom exercises in the 50 Meter Pool or deeper areas of the pools with a floatation belt or noodle. Water Exercise is not available at all times and needs to be done during Non-Open Plunge times. Other exceptions in the times apply due to other programs and activities. Youth must be actively exercising & must be supervised by an adult.

Dance by Denise provides a safe and secure environment offering dancers a variety of classes for ages 3+, beginning to advanced levels.  DBD provides a positive, welcoming, fun and friendly atmosphere while providing age-appropriate dance education to dancers as they improve their dance technique.  Classes are held weekdays afternoon/evenings.  DBD offers the following Seasons:

Boot Camp: An intense circuit style class going from sprints to push-ups in no time at all. You’ll never know what comes next.

Boot Camp & Biking: A fusion of two intense cardio workouts, beginning with a circuit style class, ending with a strong finish on the bike!

Chair Yoga: Chair yoga is a form of yoga that utilizes a chair for seated and standing yoga poses. We will work on balance & coordination, stretching tight muscle groups, and core stability

Cycling: A group indoor cycling class that replicates the feel of the road and dirt. Sprints, climbs or hovers are part of your ride

Dance Fitness: This is a heart healthy cardio workout style choreography. This fun, high-energy Dance Fitness class is open to beginning exercisers, experienced dancers, and everyone in between. Get ready to hit the dance floor!

HIGH Fitness: A hardcore fun fitness class that incorporates interval training with music you love and intense easy to follow choreography. HIGH Fitness produces a high caloric burn and full body toning through its carefully formulated choreography that alternates between intense cardio peaks and toning tracks.

Pedal & Pump: This class is the best of both worlds. Using cycling and weights in a circuit format gives you cardio and strength training all in one class. (Max participants 20)

Pilates: Pilates helps to improve alignment, breathing, and to increase efficiency of movement through core stabilization.

POUND®: Created by two female drummers, the POUND workout fuses cardio interval training with drumming to provide a challenging, heart pumping workout. 

Pump Plus: This class will strengthen all of your muscles using free weights, bands, weighted bars, BOSU, various size fitness balls, TRX straps with some cardio mixed in.

SilverSneakers Classic®: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support. This class is designed for Seniors or those that need a gentler workout. 

Strong Fit: This class is a 30/30 mix of cardio and weight training designed just for Seniors or those that need a gentler workout. 

Strong Flow Yoga: Power yoga is a practice where postures or asanas are connected through movement and breath to create heat throughout the workout. This class builds endurance, flexibility, and strength. Modifications are given, when needed. 

Wellness Walk: This is a walking class that can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life through walking.(At The Oval)

XTREME HIP HOP STEP®-Is a heart pumping revamp of traditional step aerobics that includes routines set to upbeat music that will make you want to get up and move. For beginner or advanced.

YogaA concentration on balance of mind, body, breathing, strength, and flexibility. 

Zumba: This is a fun high energy Latin dance class featuring moves such as Samba, Cha-Cha, Reggaton, Merengue & more.

WATER FITNESS CLASSES: You must be 14 yrs old to attend or 12 -13 years old if accompanied by an adult. We also recommend that you discuss your exercise program with your physician, especially if you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or injuries, or if you have a chronic illness.


Aqua Dance: Anyone can join Aqua Dance. No dance background necessary – just the willingness to move and have fun! Routines feature dynamic rhythms and easy-to-learn steps that will get you moving right away. In minutes you’ll be moving to the beat and having a blast! (Shallow and deep.)

Aqua Fit: This invigorating class uses the resistance of the water, with or without, equipment to give you an energizing workout.  Becoming more fit was never so much fun!

Crazy for Cardio: This class challenges your cardio-respiratory system with a variety of equipment to create a wild and crazy, calorie blasting workout.

Easy Does It: This gentle 45 min. workout may help decrease joint pain & swelling as well as improve joint flexibility. Mild cardiorespiratory training & light strength building exercises make this the perfect class not only for those with arthritis, but for seniors & those just beginning a fitness program. For stability & safety, aquatic shoes are recommended but not required

Splashin’ & Dashin’: Start the day right with splashin’ in fun, while dashin’ into fitness. This fun class offers a full body workout including a variety of cardio, strengthening, and ab routines, in shallow and deep water.

Moms-To-Be – water fitness is a great way to prepare your body for child birth.  Pick up a free pregnancy information sheet outside the water fitness office.

Worth the Weight: This class uses a variety of equipment, timing and formats combined with strengthening and stabilizing activities designed to promote strength, endurance, form, and balance, toning your body and enhancing your calorie burn after your workout is done.

MEMBER ICE SKATE NIGHT During various times of the year, the Utah Olympic Oval will be open for public ice-skating. During the Monday 7:00 – 9:00pm public skate session, members of the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center can skate for free. All members must show their KOPFC membership card at the Guest Services desk to receive free admission to the public ice skate sessions. For those without their own skates, rentals are only $6.00 per person. Come enjoy “The Fastest Ice on Earth” right in your own back yard!

Kid’s Camp is for kids ages 5-10 years old. We have fun games and activities every day to keep them busy from  9 am-3 pm Monday-Friday. Games can include but not limited to dodgeball, kickball, swimming, ice skating, curling, crafts, food, and movies. Camp will begin June 3rd until August 9th 2024 (These dates are to accomodate both Granite & Jordan School Districts)

I’m a retired Air Force veteran with more than 20 years of fitness experience. I began my successful fitness career while serving in the military as a Coopers Institute trained Personal Fitness Specialist. Upon my retirement I continued furthering my education through various fitness organizations earning certifications for personal training, group exercise, group cycling, and youth exercise. I have the knowledge and experience of designing workout programs specific toward your goals and abilities. I will help you develop the confidence necessary for you to feel comfortable in a gym setting so you can become the fittest YOU that YOU want to be. As your trainer I will guide you and inspire you on your fitness journey. I am currently certified through National Academy Sports Medicine (NASM), and current CPR/AED certification. In my leisure time I enjoy working out, spending time with my family, and traveling.

Join Bruce while he teaches you the ins and outs of pickleball in a noncompetitive environment. Play will be Tuesday’s 5:30-7:00 pm in our gymnasium. Pickleball League
Join our Pickleball Leagues every Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Leagues are based on skill levels and will be played in a Round Robin. How to Register Instructions

Children’s swim lessons are held year-round.  All levels will be offered but not at all time periods. Registration is held every 3 weeks (check schedule for exceptions). In all classes we must have at least 2 students to hold the class. Classes may be combined to accommodate the need to hold a class. You must register for lessons online using a credit or debit card. You may register using  the “REGISTER NOW’ button link below.

Our diving classes are for anyone ages 5 and older (yes even adults). Student needs to be able to perform a standing dive from the side of the pool as well as go off the diving board, surface, and swim to the side without assistance. This class will be held in the Outdoor Dive Tank. Please be aware that there will be other classes/activities going on at the same time.

We offer 3 class times for Adult swim lesson.  Class choices are: Saturday from 7:30-8:20am, Saturday from 8:30-9:20am, Tuesday from 7:00-7:50pm and Thursday from 7:00-7:50pm Class sets are (4) 50 minute lessons.

The Beginning Adult Class is designed to help those who have never had swim lessons, are afraid in or around water, or for those who would like to learn the basics.  The Intermediate/Advanced Adult class is designed to build on the skills learned in the Beginning Adult Class, perfect strokes, or for those wanting more technique. To sign up for this class you must have attended the Beginning Adult Class or be able to swim 10 yards on your front and back as well as swim in deep water.  Anyone 14 years of age or older may attend these classes.  During the course of the session, please feel free to ask your instructor any questions you may have. Our Water Babies Classes are for children ages 6 months to 36 months. One parent or guardian MUST be in the water with the infant for the entirety of the lessons.  Infants must also have 3 layers of protection (1) Disposable swim diaper, (2) plastic pants, AND (3) swimming suit.  This class will provide you with the knowledge and skills to orient your child to the water and to safely supervise all water activities. This class is the beginning in a process of developing your child’s water and swimming skills. Lesson times are Saturday’s at 9:30-10:45am.

Your swimmer has passed shark! Now what? Sign up for Jr. Marlins! Build endurance, technique and race the clock and compete against other teams! Practices are T/TH from 6:30-7:25pm, please see schedule for T/TH classes for dates. 1 meet included each month (must pass Shark). Tryouts are the last Thursday of the set.

Fees for Jr. Marlin groups are Per Winter Set Session: $40 for Members and $48 for Non-Members.

KYAT is a year round swimming team for boys and girls ages 5-18. The team practices under the direction of certified coaches and competes in meets against other teams from across the state and region. Beginner A 
In these lessons, kids can start learning tennis beginning with how to hold the racquet and basic strokes.  These classes will be a fun way for kids to learn new skills & discipline while being active.   There will be games and activities that will challenge them and develop skills for the game. They will learn alongside new and old friends and will learn the basic building blocks to be able to play at whatever level they want for their entire life! Ages 6-13 years old.

Members $38/General Patron $45. There are NO refunds or credits given after the second class of each lesson set. There will be no make-up classes except in the event of inclement weather. 

Lessons will begin April 2nd and proceed every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:00 pm. 6 1-hour sessions per set.

Registration will open Tuesday, March 19th.

Running & Walking

Members of KOPFC can use the indoor track at the Utah Olympic Oval as part of their membership.  Runners/walkers can train on the 442 meter indoor track that surrounds the Oval speed skating ice.  Featuring a Mondo Super X running track with 4 lanes plus an eight lane 110 sprint zone.  The track has been marked according to NCAA and IFAA standards.  The Oval is one of the only indoor track facilities in the state, providing year-round training capabilities in a climate-controlled temperature of 65F – 65F degrees.

Members wanting to use the track may go to the Guest Services check-in desk at the Oval and present their KOPFC membership card (you must show your card – they cannot look up your name if you don’t have your card with you) and register on the daily check in sheet.  Once checked in, you are set to go and enjoy this new KOPFC membership benefit.  Please visit utaholympiclegacy.org/activity/running-track-at-the-oval for any upcoming closures and a list of Rules and Safety guidelines.  For more information on this benefit please call the KOPFC front desk at 801.966.5555 or for questions about the indoor track call Oval Guest Services at 801.968.6825.

Registration now OPEN! The Kearns Summer Masters League will run Wednesday nights June 14 – August 9. Two divisions – Male and Female. Sign up individually with your friend requests. Teams will be put together and a game schedule will be produced for the season. The league is sanctioned by USA Water Polo and the focus is having fun and getting exercise.

Kearns Water Polo Club
This is a program for those looking to take their water polo to the next level.  The team practices year round (split into four seasons) and competes against other clubs around the area and occasionally travels out of state for tournaments.  New athletes can start anytime and need to be able to swim 4 laps and it’s usually necessary to complete Jr.Marlins.

The club has 100 to 150 athletes depending on the time of year.  Currently the athletes range from 7 to 18 years old.  Fee per season is $120 or $99 for KOPFC members. Come try out for Polo at our free water polo clinic (for new players), held on Friday, January 26 or Saturday, January 27!

Our Splashball class is for any beginner that wants to learn how to play water polo. It’s designed for children 5-10 with limited swimming background and no water polo experience.
The class will focus on throwing, catching and swimming with a water polo ball, treading skills and basic offence and defense as well as competition rules.

  • Classes held MW at 5:10 – 5:40 PM in the indoor Comp Pool

Welcome to Jr. Polo! This class is designed for children 5-14 who have passed Splashball or Otter Level swim classes to fine tune their polo skills in preparation for Competitive league play.

Jr. Polo is held on Monday and Wednesday from 6:00-6:45pm in the Comp pool.
Fees for Jr. Polo groups are Per Winter Set Session: $40 for Members and $48 for Non-Members.

Weight & Cardio Room/ 14-15 Year Olds Orientation

These orientations are designed to give you the understanding of how to use the machines in the Weight & Cardio rooms. Instead of stumbling around, let our staff teach you the proper use of the those machines. You will leave this orientation with all the knowledge and confidence required to use the equipment in the Weight and Cardio Rooms. No personal workouts will be discussed during this orientation. For a complete personal workout, contact one of our Personal Trainers.

Roots Basketball

We are so excited to introduce the Roots Basketball at our facililty. Join Coach Maddy as she brings her programs here..

Community Basketball will be every Monday and Wednesday from 4-5 PM. Ages are 9-14 years old. This is designed for athletes new to basketball or those who enjoy a more laid back environment while learing fundamentals. To register, click on link below

AAU Prep Camp is for ages 10-14. They play 2x/week. This is designed for athletes who are familiar with basketball but want to expand their skills and prepare to play competitively. $80/month. Contact Maddy to register.

Roots AAU Team is for 6-8th grades. Practices are 2-3x/week, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. This is designed for athletes ready to be challenged and will play in competitive leagues and tournaments. Contact Maddy to register

We offer  intermediate volleyball Monday’s from 7:15-9:30 pm and Sunday’s 12:15-3:00 pm. Play is in an open play format but you must register to play. Ages are 15 and up. Cost is free to members and $25 for general patron. Everyone must get a wristband to play. To register, click on the link below

We now offer all level play Wednesdays from 6:30-9:30 pm. This is open to ages 14 and up. Cost is free to members and general admission rate for others. No registration is required for this day.

Introducing Preschool Pals. This is a preschool for kids ages 3-5 years old. Join Ms Melissa every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30-1:30 pm beginning this September 5th and continuing each month..

A typical day at preschool will start with sensory bins, fine motor stations or dramatic play stations. Then move on to learning the days of the week and the weather. Followed by story and singing time. Next they will the have monitored free play and then crazy clean up time. They will end with cheers and a take home craft. This will be a fun and exciting time for your preschooler.

Children must be potty trained.
Parents need be on time picking up their child.
